What is the Housing Australia Future Fund?
The Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) is a dedicated $10 billion investment by the Australian Government, established in November 2023 under the Housing Australia Future Fund Act, to improve housing outcomes for Australians.
Through the HAFF, Housing Australia provides loans and grants for projects that increase the supply of social and affordable housing and address acute housing needs across Australia, including regional, rural and remote areas.
What is Affordable Housing?
Affordable Housing is for people on low to moderate incomes where rent is calculated as a percentage of market rental value. Rent is capped to avoid rental stress.
Am I Eligible for Affordable Housing?
To be eligible for Affordable Housing, your household income must not exceed:Singles - $54,608
Couples - $81,913
Families - $114,678.No member of the household own, or part-own property anywhere in Australia or overseas where their interest exceeds $100,000 and no member has assets that exceed:• $120,000 for a single-person household; or
• $150,000 for a household of two or more persons.
