Launched in early 2024, the Social Housing Energy Performance Initiative (SHEPI) is a collaboration between the Commonwealth Government and social housing providers.

Loreto Community Housing is taking part in this initiative which supports a range of energy performance upgrades in homes that will help social housing tenants reduce their energy bills, and keep their homes cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

These energy efficiency upgrades could include one or more of the following:

• Double glazed window inserts
• Reverse-cycle air conditioners
• Roof replacements with insulation blankets
• Increased roof insulation
• Heat pump hot water systems
• LED Lighting

We have already completed many upgrades with very positive feedback received from our tenants. Our team is continually assessing properties in order to prioritise the ones where we can achieve maximum benefit for the funding available.
