What is Build Up Tassie?
Build Up Tassie is a free pre-employment program run by Loreto Community Housing. Build Up Tassie provides individual and client-centred coaching, wellbeing support, skill development and industry exposure for young people looking to enter the construction industry. Working with our industry partners, Build Up Tassie continues to support, train and coach apprentices and qualified trades.
What we do
Are you in school and seeking a career in construction? Or have you finished school and are not sure how to piece together the next steps? Build Up Tassie is a free work-readiness program for anyone typically aged between 16-24 looking to enter the construction industry.
Construction pre-employment program
A nine-week orientation program in construction/civil construction. A focus on practical skills, life skills, work-readiness, qualifications and one-on-one coaching.
Wellbeing program
We have a dedicated team of Wellbeing Coaches ready to provide support to Build Up Tassie participants, apprentices/trainees, staff, and subcontractors. We also offer a range of resources, training, and workshops for industry partners looking to focus on wellbeing.
Community and Industry Engagement
Build Up Tassie regularly presents at schools attends community events to provide information about pathways into the construction industry.
Apprentice/Trainee Support and Coaching
Build Up Tassie Apprentice Coaches work closely with apprentices and trainees to ensure they have every chance of success throughout their career.
